During Fall Quarter, 2009, I took an online journalism course, J314, at the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University. Throughout the quarter, the class looked at Web journalism principles and how it is practiced today through media Web sites and blogs.

Each member of the class participated in creating blogs and other Web pages. In all, I completed:

  • Blog: Uncomplicated Bliss
    • Updated twice weekly, my blog focused on positive activities, such a those that focus on stress reduction, and similar events in Athens, Ohio, and common practices for people all over to world to use.
  • Personal Project
    • A Web page built around entertainment news in Athens, Ohio. This exemplary story focused on an u-and-coming band of hipsters who played a free show at a small bar in Athens and then performed on David Letterman the next evening.
  • Group Wiki: Ning to Enhance Community Journalism
    • A group project built on a wiki that focuses on Ning.com, its history and practical uses as a social networking site and community builder.
